Lakeland Community College is seeking a highly organized and customer-oriented Welcome Desk Attendant to join our team. As the first point of contact in the Student Service Center, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth operations for students. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and welcome students, employees, and visitors warmly and professionally.
- Assess the needs of students, employees and visitors and guide them accordingly.
- Provide general information to visitors, students and employees.
- Assist students with checking in to Qless (queue management and customer engagement software) for the Student Service Center.
- Available to fill in as needed for other staff members
- Provide general information to visitors, students, staff, and faculty.
- Work effectively with others throughout the college community to deliver student services.
- Disseminate information concerning programs, policies, and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education/Training and Experience Required/Preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Customer service experience required
- Clerical experience and knowledge of computers required; experience using Microsoft Office suite preferred
- An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides knowledge, skills and abilities is acceptable
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong customer service skills; collaborative; friendly and pleasant demeanor, calm under pressure, flexible, active listening skills.
- Good judgment and the capability to make sound decisions in a timely manner.
- Problem solving and perseverance skills.
- Use knowledge of policies and procedures to make decisions in everyday operations including but not limited to student records.
- Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment; correct English usage.
- Skills in following oral and written instructions.
- Perform routine and detailed tasks in an accurate and efficient manner

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
- This is a part-time, continuing staff position, grade 04 on the staff salary schedule with an hourly rate of $15.00. Non-insurance benefits include paid time for vacation, personal, sick and holidays along with pro-rated tuition.
- The work schedule for this position is 29 hours per week. Working hours may vary slightly during peak registration times and may include occasional Saturdays.
- There are two shifts available (Shift A, Shift B) and you may select the shift you prefer on the application. You may select both shifts if you are interested in being considered for either shift for this position.
- Shift A: (29 hours/week) Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
- Shift B: (29 hours/week) Monday - Thursday 12 – 6 p.m., Friday 12 – 5 p.m.
