Part-time Staff:  Test Center Proctor

Job Description:

This position requires attention to detail and accuracy of recording information related to the various levels of testing in the Test Center.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to prioritize work responsibilities, ensure test integrity and close monitoring of students, possess good technical skills, and be able to maintain a flexible work schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor students taking tests in the Test Center to ensure that test guidelines (i.e., use of notes, time allotted, use of scantron) are followed.
  • Document test administration, receive and maintain test files, maintain Test Center supplies.
  • Provide basic instructions to testers on use of computers.
  • Implement testing standards regarding testing protocol, maintenance of facility and access for students with disabilities.
  • Log test/tester information of all computer testing; maintain records on computer testing management system.
  • Assist learners with basic computer problems.
  • Complete Test Center Opening and Closing Procedures.
  • After employment, the candidate will receive training and will be required to be certified for Accuplacer, TEAS, CLEP, Meazure Learning, NCCT, and Pearson-Vue testing.
  • Provide basic “troubleshooting” functions throughout Accuplacer, TEAS, Pearson-VUE, Meazure Learning and CLEP testing processes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot with vendor test support when necessary.
  • Maintain aids necessary for special testing.
  • Provide clarification of testing policies and procedures for learners
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Administer placement and certification or other tests for internal and external constituents.
  • Available to fill in as needed for other staff members taking scheduled and unscheduled time off.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

A.        Education/Training and Experience Required/Preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Clerical experience and knowledge of computers required; experience using Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
  • Experience in an educational setting preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities, is acceptable.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule

C.       Physical Activity Level

  • Sedentary - Mostly sitting and lifting, up to 10 lbs.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • This is a part-time, continuing staff position, grade 4A on the salary staff schedule with an hourly rate of $16.
  • The 29 hour/week work schedule would be Monday & Thursday (9 a.m. - 5 p.m.) and Tuesday & Wednesday (10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.)   
  • The ideal candidate will be able to maintain a flexible work schedule to fill in for other shifts, as needed.
