Student Worker - Production Center Assistant

Student Worker positions are open to all students enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester. Students must be in “good academic standing,” and have a 2.0 accumulative GPA to begin working and maintain a 2.0 accumulative GPA to continue to work. New students do not have a GPA requirement. ALL students are required to apply annually for financial aid by completing the FAFSA form. If you need help with the FASFA form, call the Financial Aid & Enrollment Support Department (440-525-7070).  Students applying for 'Federal Work Study Only' positions must be eligible to receive financial aid in the form of Federal Work Study.

Job Description:  Assistant the production center with digital printing, print production finishing (binding, hole punch, laminating, shrink-wrapping, etc.), sorting mail, stocking paper, answering phones, recording production center jobs, filling racks & stanchions across campus.

Hours/Days per week: 

  • Monday – Thursday (flexible hours between 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.)

Salary:  $11.00/hr. (Work-study only)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Run print jobs on the large format printer in HIVE
  • Change stanchions/fill racks on campus
  • Assist with print jobs in the production center – b&w and color digital printing equipment
  • Assist with finishing work (binding, hole punching, laminating, shrink-wrapping)
  • Sort mail
  • Stock paper & supplies
  • Answer phones
  • Record production jobs in project management software

Skills you will potentially learn or enhance:

  • Production level printing on state-of-the-art digital printers
  • Marketing/advertising processes
  • Project management software
  • Business communications

Successful candidates will possess the following: (education/completed courses, skills or experience)

  • Dependability – showing up for work when scheduled
  • Quick-study - quickly learn or possess prior knowledge of high volume copy equipment; mail meter; folder; shrink-wrapper; etc.
  • Trustworthy/high level of integrity - must maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the production center; particularly in copying coursework
  • Customer service oriented - friendly & respectful
  • Physical - lift 25lbs. (paper rolls/boxes), push cart of materials – filling racks & stanchions
