Student Worker:  Engineering Lab Assistant (Federal Work-Study Only)

Student Worker positions are open to all students enrolled in at least 6 credit hours per semester. Students must be in “good academic standing,” and have a 2.0 accumulative GPA to begin working and maintain a 2.0 accumulative GPA to continue to work. New students do not have a GPA requirement. ALL students are required to apply annually for financial aid by completing the FAFSA form. If you need help with the FASFA form, call the Financial Aid & Enrollment Support Department (440-525-7070).  Students applying for 'Federal Work Study Only' positions must be eligible to receive financial aid in the form of Federal Work Study.  You MUST apply for Federal Work Study funds here.

Days/Hours:  *Flexible: Monday - Thursday between 8 a.m. - 8 pm 

*must be able to work at least 10 hours per week

Salary:  $11.00/hr.

Department/Location:  Engineering Technologies - Room E-229

Supervisor:  Carl Ellefsen (440-525-7277) 

Job Responsibilities: 

 

  • Assist with maintaining machine shop lab equipment.
  • Assist with maintaining Haas CNC machining centers and turning centers, CNC router table and CNC plasma machine.
  • Assist with maintaining Construction Management lab equipment. (surveying equipment, woodworking equipment, material testing equipment, construction equipment).
  • Assist with classroom prep and lab prep for a variety of engineering program labs.
  • Assist with setting up and maintaining lab computers.
  • Assist with maintaining and operating 3D printers (FDM and resin), laser engraver, HP plotters, subtractive prototyping equipment and Faro Arm.

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • No Skills required.  We will train as needed.     
  • Must be dependable, have good customer service and communication skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
